What is the worship experience like?

Trinity offers different hour-long worship services so there’s likely one to fit your desires for a worship experience!

  • Traditional Worship :: Saturdays at 6:00 p.m. in Gollaher Chapel and Sundays at 9:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. Our traditional services offer an opportunity for personal reflection and quiet worship. You can expect a sermon, liturgy readings, and hymns out of the United Methodist hymnal, which is accompanied by our organist. During the fall, winter, and spring months, the Chancel Choir generally sings a powerful praise anthem during the Sunday morning service.
  • Contemporary Worship :: Sundays at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary. Contemporary worship's music is led by our Crosspoint praise band, which features vocals, guitars, drums, bass, and keys. They play songs you might be familiar with, and the words are on the screen so you can sing along if you’d like. You can expect a sermon, a gospel lesson, and prayers.

Communion is shared at each services during the first weekend of each month. Our Sunday morning services have a Kid's Chat.

Where can my kids go?

On Sunday mornings we have options for babies through fifth grade.

  • There is a nursery for little ones up to age four. Our nursery workers provide a loving environment while you’re in worship. Our ushers can help you find the nursery on Sunday morning. During the holidays, the nursery might not be available due to staff being unavailable. Please check with the church office so you're able to determine whether nursery will be available the coming weekend.
  • Sunday School is offered during the 10 a.m. hour.
  • Youth Group meets on Wednesday nights from 6:45-8:00 p.m. Click here for more information! (This ministry only occurs throughout the school year)

What should I wear?

You can wear whatever makes you feel the most comfortable during worship. Jeans are just fine, and so are dresses and dress pants. You’ll fit right in, so please come as you are.

What will I do when I get there?

There are greeters who can help direct you to the sanctuary and there are ushers who can answer questions about the church (the greeters and ushers will help you and your family to the best of their abilities!). There are sign in sheets on a welcoming table where we invite you to sign in and provide a phone number. If you're a visitor, one of our pastors will give you a follow up call in the following week(s).

Overall, please participate in a way you feel comfortable. We hope you’ll visit us again, but in the meantime, feel free to call the church office during the week if you have any questions about Trinity UMC in Grand Island, NE.
