Fresh Expressions: Church Outside the Walls
Take a journey this Lent, with Pastor Dave, outside the walls of the church to explore the missional nature of God and to imagine new possibilities of being the church. We will use Bishop Ken Carter’s book, Fresh Expressions: A New Kind of Methodist Church for People Not in Church, demographic data of Grand Island, and video examples of Fresh Expressions to expand our ideas of what church can be.
Choose from two times in Lent: Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm or Wednesday morning at 9:00am.
Please note: This Bible Study begins March 19 and ends on April 16–if you join the Tuesday evening group. If you join the Wednesday morning group, it will begin on March 20 and end on April 17.
This group meets on Friday’s at Tommy’s restaurant in Grand Island. The study begins at 7 a.m.
The Tuesday Bible Study meets for discussion, study and fellowship. They meet weekly at the church. The bible study begins at 1 p.m.
A group for moms of all ages to fellowship, study a book, and share motherhood moments. Childcare is provided. The moms meet Wednesday evenings between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. They meet at the church.
Come to the Chocolate Bar on Wednesday’s at 4 p.m. to join Rev. Kelly in coloring. Bring your own supplies, if you want. Rev. Kelly does provide additional coloring pages and colored pencils. Order a cup of coffee, a piece of cake, and feel your heart beat slow as you relax while coloring.

Prime Timers meet the third Tuesday of the month. Card games begin at 10 a.m. and the meal is served at noon. The cost per meal is $7.00. You can either come at 10 a.m. to play cards and stay for the meal, or you can only show up for the meal. New people are always welcome to join in the fun! If you’re interested in attending, call the church at 308.382.1952.
We have a group come in on Friday afternoons to stuff bulletins for the weekends. They begin stuffing at 1 p.m. in our Conference Room. This is a great opportunity to get to know other members of the church and spend time in fellowship. There is a lot of laughter and a lot of stories are shared. The group stuffs bulletins for all three services for the weekend. We would love to have you join us.
A group comes in every month to help prepare newsletters for mailing.
We meet on the third Wednesday of every month at 8:30 a.m. in The Gathering Place. Trinity mails close to 750 newsletters every month, so this gathering is very important. There is always coffee and usually a treat. If you’d like to help, call the church at 308.382.1952.
Sometimes we are unable to meet the third Wednesday of every month, so it’s always best to contact the church before arriving!
Lectio Divina is an ancient Christian Spiritual practice of listening for God’s voice through slowing down the process of reading scripture. Each week we’ll read the focus scripture for Sunday’s worship from three different voices and versions of the Bible, then go off for a time of silence, then return and reflect on how the scripture spoke to you. The group meets Thursday mornings at 11 a.m.
