Each year about this time we talk about Stewardship. So, what is stewardship really? To answer that question, we need to consider two parts of stewardship. The first part is what is written in each Trinity Tidings called our “Guiding Statement”. These include three vital parts of our Trinity beliefs: 1. Our Mission, 2. Our Vision and 3. What we value.
When we consider and evaluate these three statements, we are really being asked to decide what God has called us to be and called us to do as his witnesses. Are we passionate about his directions to us to make us compassionate individuals and persons willing to act in his behalf? Are we trying to grow spiritually, and are we being generous with our God given talents and sharing these gifts with others?
I believe in many ways Trinity is a very giving church, especially in such areas as community involvement, leadership and giving of our time and talents. We support programs like: Loaves & Fishes, Baskets of Love, Salvation Army support and many outreach programs.
I believe God is asking us to grow in faith by inviting us to grow in generosity. A very important component of stewardship is giving of our time, our talents and giving of ourselves to help others.
The second part of stewardship is supporting our church and its ministries by giving of our financial resources. Last year this letter talked about “paying it forward”. This was not just a one-year theme but should be a goal of our giving every year. Our hope is that each of us will prayerfully consider a generous pledge to Trinity for the 2025 church year.
