I love walking through the doors to Trinity and feeling the energy coursing through the building. One of my core beliefs is that God put “people” (not just a person, but many people) on earth so that we could be in fellowship together. And fellowship is abundant here at Trinity. Let’s take a brief look at ministries (in no particular order) that have been added to our lineup in the last year. A year ago we had several “meet and greet” get togethers to welcome Rev. April and her family. (Watch for “meet and greets” coming up to get to know Pastor Shella.) These get togethers included a young families BBQ at Rev. April ‘s home. We now have Wednesday evening meals, cooked by many within our church, and greatly enjoyed during the school year. In addition, munching on hot dogs and hamburgers after worship on Sundays has provided much visiting and laughter. Wednesday evenings now includes the “Empowering Women” group. We watched butterflies hatch and fly away during our Lenten season. Wearing patriotic clothing prior to the 4th was fun! We also had an “ugly Christmas sweater” day plus “embrace spring” with wearing spring clothing on another Sunday. During Advent a bus load of singers went caroling to nursing homes and enjoyed a potluck afterwards. Also during Advent, many of us attended a wonderful Christmas open house at Rev. April’s home. She also invited us to learn how to make kolaches in her kitchen. Blankets and socks were collected and handed out to those who needed them. Phew, I’m getting breathless and I haven’t even mentioned The Haven Garden yet or a family game night and potluck. We are enjoying the updated kitchen in Miller Hall along with freshly painted walls and new carpet. And, drum roll please, Trinity sponsored a hugely successful fishing contest. Wow! What a fun place to meet others while serving our God. I’m pretty sure our church isn’t done adding new ministries. Keep your eyes and ears open for what is coming!
