This is the first weekend after the birth of our Lord. In the 12 days of Christmas, this is the 3rd or 4th day. These days lead up to the Epiphany on January 6th. As Christianity spreads from the east, the less celebrations are had on the 12 days of Christmas. To bring back one tradition from history of the Catholics, here is a list of common symbols that children might have remembered for each day. This is similar to Advent Song with a new verse each day. 1. Partridge in a Pear Tree: Jesus (willing to sacrifice for young) 2. Two Turtle Doves: Old & New Testaments 3. Six Geese a-Laying: Six Days of Creation 7. Seven Swans a-Swimming: Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit 8. Eight Maids a-Milking: The Eight Beatitudes 9. Nine Ladies Dancing: Nine Fruits of the Spirit 10.Ten Lords a-Leaping: Ten Commandments 11.Eleven Pipers Piping: Eleven Faithful Apostles 12.Twelve Drummers Drumming: Twelve Articles of the Apostles’ Creed
