I was very touched after reading the Upper Room for
November 20th. It quoted the Scripture from John 16,
"You did not choose me, but I chose you. And I
appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so
that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in
my name."
When I was 4 1/2 years old our neighbors ask my
parents if they could take me to Sunday School at the
Methodist Church. My Father had never belonged to a
Church and my mother was a member of the Christian
Church but didn't attend.
They allowed me to be taken to Sunday School and
when this family moved my mother would still take me
so I could go to Sunday School, but didn't attend
herself. I continued to be active in the Church attending
weekly MYF meetings and as a teen singing in the Choir.
At some point my mother transferred her membership
and when I was 15 my father had a very serious heart
attack. During his recovery he also became a member
of that Methodist Church in Madison, Kansas.
Little did I know that at 4 ┬╜ years old I was chosen to
bear fruit&my parents eventually being involved in the
Methodist Church.
What ways were you chosen to bear fruit?
